Gum Benjamin is a crystalline compound C12 H12 02 , derived from benzaldehyde.Benzoid is sold as peanuts, splitters and grains. Blocked powder and powder with peanuts are the finest grades of material they also possess the best fragrance . A number of other terms can be used like garbling, cleaned , etc. Those who specialize in aromatic resins have slight variances in language as there is no formal – system established , but prices of the different grades often give the best indication of quality.
The highest grade of benzoin is sold as separate pieces called “ peanuts”. Block of benzoin are usually sold under trade name which vary in quality and price. This is just a brief insight into a fascinating topic to whitch more information will be added as time goes on.
